Eye examination
We start with an automatic measurement that requires no input from you. The computer provides an indication of your distance vision. Eye pressure is also measured at this stage. The automatic measurements are followed by a comprehensive examination. We start by measuring the distance vision of your right eye, then we measure the distance vision of your left eye. Next, we examine how your eyes work together. Depending on your age and any reading problems you may have, we also perform a test to determine whether you need reading glasses.
If necessary, we will also measure the strength of your current glasses. This allows us to provide a good comparison between the old and new strengths. We can also use trial frames so that you can immediately see how you will (potentially) see with your new glasses!
The eye test is always free when you purchase frames, glasses, or contact lenses. Our senior optician (MBO Optometrist) has over 40 years of experience. Eye care at its best at Van der Geest Optiek.

Deviations
If we find any abnormalities that cannot be corrected with glasses, we recommend that you visit your family doctor.
A letter with our findings will be given to your family doctor, who will then determine whether or not it is necessary to see an ophthalmologist.
When selecting glasses, sunglasses, or contact lenses, we provide personalized advice in a relaxed atmosphere. We will discuss the options with you, along with their respective advantages and disadvantages.
We are happy to help you with your eye care needs. Make an appointment for an eye test or lens fitting, with no obligation. You are very welcome to visitour store in Haarlem.
